Free Breakfast

This morning, breakfast was on Jamba Juice! I heard from a friend that the Valley Jamba Juices were giving away free breakfst Smoothies. My friend and I packed up our boys and headed to Jamba. I had the Mango Peach Topper and it was delicious! We basked in the sun and enjoyed our free breakfast.

Conference

This year was the first time that Jason and I tried to watch conference with a 1 year old running around. Needless to say, I saw bits and pieces and will have to go back and watch many of the talks over again. However, one talk that I did hear and listen to intently was M. Russell Ballard's talk on being a mother. Although I only have one child, I feel like much of my day is tending to his needs and cleaningup after him. When I was NOT a mom, I always wondered what the big deal was with people who have kids being on time, complaining about a dirty house, not getting out to a movie, having a filthy car, and the list could go on and on. I never realized how much time and energy one child would take out of me, and I can only imagine those of you that have 3, 4, 5, and 6 kids. I now see how being on time is a challenge, or just going on a date night. So I really appreciated Elder Ballard's talk and how he more appreciated his wife and her motherly duties after he was forced to take them over for a short while. I also loved when he talked about saying Thank You more often as spouses and children alike. What a better world this would be if we all were a little kinder and a little more grateful to one another.

Lunch

I am somehow making it through a rough month, and a lot of that is due to family and friends meeting me for lunch this week. I have been out to lunch everyday thus far and have plans through Friday! It is a relief and a help that so many people want to keep me busy. It is also nice to have something to look forward to during the day and week.
This also means that I have to exercise more faithfully so my body can afford to eat out. I am resuming the JumpSnap again as it helped me lose pregnancy weight last time. It is a great way to release anxiety, stress, grief and anger. If anyone needs an outlet, go jump rope for 10 minutes. Truly amazing!

Speedster

My sister and her family are in town for their Spring Break. My dad thought it would be fun to go race the go carts in Phoenix. I had never heard of it until my dad and a few of his buddies went and checked it out. F1 Raceway in Phoenix to be exact. And to my amazement, it was really fun! The go karts go almost 45 miles an hour and you are zooming around this indoor track and sliding around the corners, trying not to get passed or hit. It was kind of funny to see some older guys there with there own helmets and driving gloves. (come on people, get a life!) But it was good family bonding and something I may do again!!

Although Shannon is the only one smiling in this photo, it was FUN!

Happy Easter!

What is Easter without an easter egg hunt? Grandma and Granpda Scanlan had us over for an Easter Egg hunt along with the Paz Soldans and the Hoovers. (Both and Jason's sisters and their families.) The triplets were the only other cousins there, but we had a great time and Quinn actually enjoyed finding the eggs!

Loss

Each of us live our lives with the hope that we are doing the best we can and that we can avoid tragedy and loss. I have suffered a terrible loss and will never be the same. My heart aches and therefore will not go into details at this time, but definitely want to say THANK YOU to those people who prayed for us, who loved us, who supported us and who felt our loss. What an experience to have to put things in perspective. The outpouring of love was overwhelming and I am grateful for people like you!
